Willington Realty Co advertises a loan program offering up to 20000 dollars for farms with prompt service and immediate funds. The notice emphasizes no boiler, no delays, and on hand money for agricultural borrowers.
An old drug store advert promotes Dr. King's New Life Pills as a cure for biliousness malaria and jaundice. The 25 cent claim appears from Brownell's Drug Store advertising the product.
Edward Ward Carmack, former U.S. senator from Tennessee, was shot and killed in a street duel with Duncan B. Cooper and Robin Cooper in Nashville. The incident followed caustic editorials in the Tennessean and left investigators with few facts as police detain Col. Cooper and hospitalize Robin Cooper. Nearby witnesses say Carmack fired once. his gun had two discharged cylinders. In a separate Minneapolis robbery, three masked men held up Motorman Orlando B. Soule on a Chicago avenue car, stealing $25 and a gold watch and escaping with the vehicle.
Pittsburg reports a revival in industry worsens labor scarcity in the Connellsville coke region. The Connellsville Courier appeals for 1,000 workers as foreign laborers fail to return and many who did go west. Postmaster Edward G. Morgan was shot in New York by a stenographer, then killed herself. Morgan is gravely injured.
Market notes from Minneapolis Duluth and St. Paul list grain prices for No 1 northern wheat at 1.05 and 1.03 for other months, No 3 white oats at 48 cents, No 3 barley around 3.00, rye unspecified, and No 3 corn.
