Out of season hunters fined after Williston shooting
Olaf Bjorke state game warden arrived in Williston to investigate a last week shooting. H. D. Shepard deputy sheriff was named game warden and seven men were arrested for hunting without a permit. Four men pled guilty and were fined 32.75 dollars each.

Young Man Dies in Estevan Mine Accident
Charles R. Raber, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Raber of Mormon, was crushed to death in a coal mine at Estevan Canada. Driving a horse-drawn coal car toppled track supports and a heavy timber and coal fell on him. He married Daisy Richardson of Devils Lake six weeks earlier. The couple had gone to Estevan seeking better fortunes. Born August 1 1885 in Jacksonville Ohio, he died November 6 1908. Survived by parents, wife, two sisters and three brothers.

Clayton Younkin to stand trial for manslaughter
Clayton Younkin of Minot faced a preliminary hearing in McKenzie county after unintentionally shooting Phil Short during a deer hunt. Bound over to district court on manslaughter charges with a $2000 bond. a coroner's inquest ruled Short died from a bullet fired by Younkin near Bell's Ferry on November 4, 1908.
