In El Paso on March 21 mounted Customs Inspectors Charles Logan and Charles Jones fought a duel in the dry bed of the Rio Grande and both were killed. Their bodies were found Friday. Each is believed to have mistaken the other for a smuggler. Logan was the son of the late Maj. T H Logan and brother-in-law to Capt. Frank D. Wickham. Jones had worked as a railroad man and had lived in San Antonio and Houston before joining the customs service.
