Mass Meeting Promotes Williston Irrigation Settlement

A large Williston Water Users Association gathering heard Max Bass of the Great Northern Railway outline plans to attract settlers to the Williston Irrigation Project. He urged owners to reduce holdings to 80 acres and prepare land lists for sale to attract 250+ new families, with publicity to eastern buyers and coordination with F H Newell of the Reclamation Service. Meetings were scheduled at Palmer School and the Court House to list lands and expedite spring settlement, with officials stressing urgent action by local businessmen and farmers.

Williston Basketball Teams Split Week Matches

Williston played two basketball games last week losing to Minot 20 to 37 and defeating Culbertson 51 to 0. The Minot game was tight with a 13-13 second half and rough play that resembled indoor football at times.

Abbott King Wedding In City Yesterday Afternoon

Morris Abbott and Miss Margaret King were married at the groom's mother's home in the city at 3 30 pm. Rev Henness performed the ceremony. The bride, in white silk, and the couple will reside in Williston. The groom is a local carpenter. The Ethiopian Dixies delayed from April 1 due to snow in Florida and will perform later in April.
