Judge Goss Busy As He Grants Passports And Delivers Sentences
Judge Goss was in the city Monday handling numerous duties. He approved over fifty applications for final citizen papers and processed other court business. Oscar Martin, an escaped prisoner, pled guilty to jail breaking and grand larceny and was sent to reform school until May 11, 1913. R. L. Stewart pled guilty to resisting an officer with sentence suspended. Wm. Caldwell of Ambrose pled guilty to running a blind pig and was sentenced to four months in jail plus a $200 fine with forty days added if the fine is unpaid.
Arabian Sultan Buys American Boat at New York Show
The Sultan of Muscat orders a 26 ft steel launch with a 25 HP Ferro engine from W. H. Mullins Co. of Salem Ohio, signaling strong interest in American boats. The ship will likely prompt further royal orders if satisfactory, amid international competition from European builders.
