A March 11 ruling by the General Land Office ends deputy proof rules across federal offices. Deputies appointed before April may still file five year proofs with in-office time counted, but no one may claim fourteen months proof without actual residence. Patent outcomes for those who filed fourteen months proofs and have not yet received patent are expected to be rejected.
H. P. Hansen has sold his Snyder building gallery north of Williston Drug to C. V. Olson of Fargo. The deal closed last week and Olson will take charge on April 25. Hansen plans no immediate business change but will not leave Williston.
The Right Reverend Cameron D D bishop of the Episcopal church in North Dakota will be in this city next Sunday to conduct services at the Episcopal church. An early communion at eight in the morning morning prayer and sermon at eleven evening prayer and service at seven thirty. All are invited to attend.
The Wil liston Band and Orchestra gave a fine program at Gates opera house last night. A well filled hall applauded Mrs Sutherland's readings and Mrs Grant's solos. Miss Onona Young's violin solo was encored, and the overall performance drew strong praise for variety and quality.
A farmers institute will be held in this city on March 24. Meetings take place in the court house with all farmers urged to attend. Able speakers will discuss farming problems common to this region.
Circulating notice states Mayor Wegley will not seek reelection but this is erroneous as Wegley has consented to run again for Bayoran. Citizens may expect Wegley as candidate if they read the notice correctly.

Willard Edlund seven months old, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Dilley, died Saturday morning from pneumonia after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Sunday in the Catholic church and interment followed at Williston cemetery.
