Afoul of Villa's Men at the New Mexico Mine Camp
An armed clash near the Santa Cruz mine across the border sees Villa's forces attack. Lieutenant Kynaston leads a small Mexican-American detachment to defend the Upton camp, rescue Dorothy and Mrs. Fane, and pursue the jewel known as the emerald bell stolen from a shrine. A blind priest claims the gem, while Kynaston and Major Updyke navigate politics, danger, and a tense cross-border pursuit as shots ring out and a tense standoff unfolds.
