Burdick Special to Circuit the State Monday Morning

City ordinances grant Pioneer Oil Gas Company a four month window to begin gas supply using wells within ten miles. If successful within a year, the firm will provide gas to Williston, potentially spurring regional development and possibly advancing oil and clay industries. Summit Valley Farmers Picnic Draws Large Turnout

The Summit Valley Farmers club held its second annual picnic at A. E. Walker’s farm near Epping with about 200 attendees. A varied program offered races games and music. A Marmon team beat Epping 8 to 2 in baseball. Principal speakers included County Federal Agent Hall Attorney Braatelien and Williston Commercial club secretary Morrill. The day ended with happy goodbyes and a return picnic dinner by Portal visitors the following day near the river.

Diptheria Strikes Wil liston Resident Miss Anderson

Miss Alice Anderson has suffered for weeks with diphtheria at her Gladys area home. The illness prompted medical aid as a younger sister and both parents showed symptoms. antitoxin halted serious cases and Miss Anderson is slowly improving. The Wil liston resident was a longtime local school figure and valedictorian of the high school class a year ago.

Company E to stage great military play at Armory

Company E to present a benefit military play At Tampa Bay or With The Boys of 98 at the Armory Auditorium Friday June 28. The production directed by Tom Lennon features 50 to 60 cast and special scenery with electrical effects. Grading Contract Awarded for Wildrose Extension

The grading work for the Wildrose branch extension of the Great Northern was let on Wednesday June 7 to Morrie and Shepard. They will begin as soon as crews and equipment are available, with a projected completion in 90 days. The Northern Town and Land Company announces townsite sales along the new extension, naming Corinth Appan Alamo Zahl Mesa and Grenora. Sales run June 20 to 23 at the town sites, with W. F. Hanks Powers Lake overseeing the townsite sales.
