Memorial Day Observed by Williston Citizens

Memorial Day activities in Williston honored Civil War era heroes with a simple, moving program. The Grand Army of the Republic, local bands including the Ladies Band, Apollo Club, and Seeley Sisters performed on Main Street then at the cemetery services, with Rev. Hollett and Rev. Henness delivering notable remarks.

Frightened cow injures boy then dies

Clifford Maderson seven is dragged by a frightened cow at a pasture then struck by its heels and suffers severe head injuries. He dies at six in the morning after the incident reported Tuesday evening. Doctor Dochtermann treated his wounds.

Williston High School Alumni Form New Association

Graduates from Williston High School gathered Saturday at Supt Ellithorpes home to organize an Alumni association. The group perfected the organization and elected Waldo Leonhardy president Minda Stutrud vice president Marguerite Matteson secretary and treasurer. Ten of twenty graduates attended and enjoyed the event.

Commercial Club Seeks Site for Experiment Station

A Saturday meeting of the Commercial Club discussed selecting a site for the Experiment Station. Prof. Shephard of the Agriculture College and M. J. Costello of Great Northern visited to review proposed locations. Decision made to delay two weeks for more information. A committee including Prof. Shephard Prof. Willard and Costello will inspect several farms later this month.

New Bankruptcy Rules Adopted in Northwestern North Dakota

The newspaper announces a new series of bankruptcy practice rules for the northwestern North Dakota region. The rules were adopted and are available for review at the office of John H. Lewis, referee in bankruptcy, in Minot.

Graduation Exercises Held Friday Night

The Williston High School graduation took place Friday evening in the Methodist church with the choir, school officials, and Prof. Vernon P. Squires of the State University in attendance. Salutatorian Vivian Marguerite Matteson spoke first, followed by John Heffernan with the class history and gift presentation. Maggie Catherine Monroe, valedictorian, summarized four years, and Lillian Ethel Greenup delivered the class prophecy. the program included musical numbers, a trombone solo by Oscar Bell, and a benediction by Rev. P. J. Henne.
