Willis ton High to Graduates Five in Class of 1924

Tomorrow evening the Willis ton high school will hold commencement at 8:30 in the M E church. Five students Vivian Marguerite Matteson Margaret Edith Kerr Lilian Ethel Greenup Maggie Catherine Monroe and John Francis Heffernan will graduate. The program includes an overture modern lit orchestra a class prophecy valedictory trombone solo with orchestra and diplomas presented by President Fred D West.

Williston hosts Leeds tomorrow with a 2 30 start after Leeds defeated Bottineau in a recent 2 to 1 game. Earlier tonight Wheelock vs. Williston at seven sharp promises a strong contest as Wheelock bolsters its lineup.

Sale of Isolated Tracts Clarified by Land Office

The Department of Interior General Land Office circular states isolated and disconnected tracts of public lands will not be sold under the 1906 act unless applicants swear they desire to purchase the land described in their application, in addition to the existing showing. The notice is addressed to Sirs at the United States Land Office and regional registers and receivers.

Memorial Day Observance in Williston With Concert and Graves Décoration

Memorial Day is observed in Williston with an afternoon program in the court room followed by a march to the cemetery to decorate soldiers’ graves. The Ladies band debuts this afternoon performing selections including Boys of the Old Brigade.

Minot Deputy Recovers Runaway Boys

Deputy Sheriff Ed Kelley sought two fourteen year old runaways in Minot on Tuesday. One was son of N. Davis, the other son of an Ehr brother. They had left Monday to “see the world.” Glasgow authorities later found them and Kelley escorted them back to Minot.

Reclamationworker to Wed in Denver Next Month

L. P. Abell of the Reclamation service left Sunday for Denver Colorado where he will marry Mrs Edna B Lafferty on the fifth of next month They will return to Williston mid June and make their home here Abell is well known in social circles and friends look forward to welcoming the couple.

Williston to Host Great July Fourth Celebration

Williston plans a three day festival July 4 5 and 6 featuring the irrigation project opening. The Commercial club seeks 50 to 100 Indians from Fort Berthold and hopes for Fort Assinniboine soldiers. A baseball tournament concerts fireworks races and visits by national and state officials including the Interior Secretary U S Senators Representatives and James J Hill are planned.
