Taft Plan Becomes Part Of Tariff Bill In Senate Vote
The Senate endorsed the corporation tax amendment as part of the tariff bill by a 60 to 11 vote after a prolonged session. The final roll call showed 45 in favor and 31 against on substituting the corporation tax for the income tax provision, with Republicans largely supporting and a few Democrats voting otherwise.
