Kid Trailer captured by sheriff after horses stolen

Last Sunday Sheriff Olson and deputies nabbed Jack Winfield known as Kid Trailer sixty miles northwest of Williston in Riding Rock country with five horses. He was confronted at a gate and arrested without a shot fired. Bonds set at 7000 dollars. hearing scheduled. Sheriff expects the capture to break up a regional horse theft gang spanning Montana and Canada.

Heat claims worker and horses in Mandan heat

Mandan July 1 intense heat on the Northern Pacific extension disabled a driver who died before aid arrived. Several other workers were prostrated and some gangs stopped work early. Eleven horses reportedly died from the heat in the area.
