Nelson to Grinnell mail route now runs 8 am to 5 pm with daylight aiding the driver. Van Wartende returns from Canada after visiting there. Charlie Kruger reports wheat stolen from his house while he was away.

Valley City Normal News and Upcoming Games

President McFarland has been in Chicago for Normal school business. The Choral Society performed Gaul's cantata The Holy City with 125 voices and a 24 piece orchestra. The boys basketball team shows promise with games arranged against Jamestown High School Fargo College Agricultural College Mayville Normal and the University. The YMCA observes a week of prayer with daily services. The first year class adopts the motto Rowing not Drift. The faculty and student body send condolences to the parents of Miss Gladys Lynch.

Granville Death and Normal School News Highlight

Death occurred at Granville. Miss Lynch is praised as one of the brightest and most admirable Normal graduates. Alumni from the Normal attended the Sembrich concert. Misa Farnsworth spoke for the Civic Improvement League on potato cooking. New bells and electric lights were installed. YWCA hosted a tea to introduce Miss Raymond, state secretary. Mr. McFarland gave chapel talks about his eastern trip and Chicago stores. The Triangle Club performed in chapel under Miss Ellingson. Faculty plans a new enrollment system with advisor aid for student study selection.

Local Notes Additions and Travels Across Town

Cambetta John Lokken served as mail carrier last week. Bill Hains wed on December 1, wedding tied to an Iowa bride. Gullie Hains visits with her brother Bill. Elliott claims property at Angie North Dakota last week. Geo Hellyer digs a well for Frank Benoit. Williams family to Minot for the winter. Lokken to Minnesota for the winter.

Marmon Earl C. Smith visited Williston last Sunday and Monday. Mrs Justina Thompson and children plan to move to Williston next week. A Steve Marmon ranch dance drew a large crowd last Friday. W C Brooks was visiting family amid court service. Marmon builds an 18 by 30 foot hall to host dances and socials with opening planned around December 25. Roy Dillree and Ben Thompson traveled to Williston on business and visits. Albert Macintosh is recovering from illness. The community hears buckwheat cake sales and free recipe tips from B C Smith who promises cheaper cakes than town grocers.

Baby Boy Born to Eden Valley Couple

Eden Valley Mr and Mrs Plaude McCoy welcomed a fine baby boy. Rev D F Landis is away holding meetings. W W Wilde and wife moved to Williston for the winter. W W Keltner couple plan extended visit to their old home. Roy March assisted Ray Kratzer last Saturday.
