State Attorney agrees to test suit in blue sky matter

In Bismarck on April 12 the State Banking Board accepted Attorney General William Langer’s suggestion to file a test suit in state courts to determine if Consumers’ Stores Co violates the blue sky law. Attorney H. A. Paddock for Consumers’ Stores said the company seeks timely clarity and would welcome a Supreme Court ruling. Langer objected to a stenographer at the meeting and Secretary of State Thomas Hall, recently cited in cooperative debates, did not back him.
