The city of Williston took delivery of a new $8,000 American LaFrance fire truck this week. A representative will stay to test the engine and train local staff. The truck features a high pressure pump, capable of reaching tall buildings, and carries chemical tanks for small fires. It promises quicker response and reduced fire losses.

Navy recruiting officer opens Williston office

Community program poorly attended at Armory
The first day of the community program in Williston attracted less than fifty attendees despite high quality acts. The Victory Quartet entertained and Dr. McLaren of California spoke. A banquet at the I O O F hall featured Fred P. Mann of Devils Lake as main speaker. Further programs were scheduled for today with hoped for better turnout. Debs begins ten year federal prison term in Moundsville after surrendering in Cleveland for seditious utterances.
