Million Dollar Band to Play at Williston Armory
Captain R Colley of Company B Fargo books the Second North Dakota Regiment Band for a concert at Williston Armory Friday April 8. The 40 member band, famed as the Million Dollar Band, returns from France where they spent fifteen months and gave over 300 concerts under General Pershing. Admission is 60 cents for the concert at 8 15 pm with a post concert dance at 1.00. War tax extra.

Relief Drive Under Way in Williston for Near East Aid
A relief drive to raise 2000 dollars in Williams County for Near East sufferers was launched after a mass meeting at the Armory. Dr Zidan of the Syrian church in Brooklyn urged aid noting thousands of orphans and refugees dying from hunger amid the war. Gordon Smith of Fargo, state relief chairman, said funds will go directly to those in need, with drive costs covered by wealthy donors. Music by Onstad's Orchestra accompanied the event.

Excellent Art Exhibit Coming to High School Aud
Enthusiasm grows in schools for an April 21 to 26 art exhibition at the high school auditorium. Proceeds fund purchasing pictures for classrooms with prize works awarded to rooms selling most tickets by April 23. The event features Italian Flemish modern English German and Spanish paintings plus Renaissance pieces.
Blind man lands big broom order from Consumers Stores
C D Kauffman, a local blind broom maker, received his first large order from Consumers Stores Co for a nearby store. The letter suggests capacity to supply twenty five stores now and nearly fifty by year end, with plans to grow broom corn locally this summer to sustain operations through winter. Williston Receives New Fire Engine From Elmira Plant
Williston has shipped from Elmira New York a new American LaFrance fire engine sold by W S Nott Company. The truck, designed for high water pressure and chemical storage, will join the city’s firefighting fleet alongside retained old horses from the Minneapolis Fire Department. The engine is among models used nationwide and already supplied to France and Japan.
