Insurgents Routed at County Republican Convention

Forman North Dakota March 28 insurgents were defeated 82 to 47 as D. J. McKenzie and allies dominated the convention. Marshall faction failed to take control despite strenuous efforts. County campaign begins with new candidates emerging daily.

City of Williston to Elect Aldermen on April 6 1908

Williston North Dakota holds its annual city election on April 6 1908 to elect one Alderman from each ward. Polls open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voting sites include Court House in the first ward Sam Boys livery barn in the second ward and the home of Fred Bemis at Sixth Street and Western Avenue in the third ward. City Auditor Will T Poe announces the notice.

World's Highest Dam Lays First Stone In Wyoming

Butte Montana March 28 The first stone in the highest dam ever erected will be laid today on the Shoshone river in Wyoming with ceremonies. Supervising engineer Henry N Savage of the reclamation service says preparation has gone on for over two years and the foundation excavation is finished. The completed dam will rise 315 feet.

Students Held for Rioting in Ann Arbor

Worthington Minn March 27 August W Nelson and Ben Benning confessed to stealing a scam of horses and forging two checks to settle a grievance with neighbors. Both are jailed. Nelson said he last year worked for Foster Moore who allegedly underpaid him. He took Moore's horses and buggy to Duluth but was captured at Storden.

Stray horses taken in near Williston North Dakota

E. J. Smith reports multiple horses missing from his farm near Williston in early March. The list includes several bay geldings with R3 brands, a dark gray three-year-old colt branded 6-S, a WR branded small buckskin pinto mare, and a thin bay mare.
