Mike Flowers, born February 23 1960 in Sherman, is the son of Floyd C. and the late Mrs Flowers. He has a brother in Plano and played football three years. An Eagle Scout with God and Country Award, he won two FFA agri culture awards and enjoys fishing, hunting, rock music, and Burt Reynolds. He plans to attend Grayson County College after graduation and would love a week in Hawaii.

Butler previously taught at Trenton High School for nine years and was self employed before coming to Whitewright. He says he is enjoying the warm welcome from students and staff.

Whitewright High School completes asphalt paving for student and faculty lots in late September. The new pavement eliminates holes and mud from rain or snow and should provide years of usable parking with proper upkeep.

School Menus for October Weekdays
School lunches listed for Monday October 17 through Friday October 21 include beef vegetable stew with pineapple salad and fruit cocktails, hot dogs with kraut and fries, oven fried steak with potatoes and green beans, fried fish with macaroni and cheese, and hamburger pattie on a bun with corn chips and ice cream. Meals meet USDA Type A requirements and include bread, butter, and a half pint of milk.
Students Head to State Fair of Texas
FHA and FFA members plan a trip to the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. They will meet at the old grade school bus shed on Saturday Oct. 15 at 7 a.m. to ride the bus. After arrival, participants will receive a free hot dog and must return on the same bus by 3 p.m.

Honey Grove failed to score on its opening possession as Whitewright drove 20 yards for the first TD on a draw to Aubrey Cox. The JVs led 41-6 at halftime with several long plays, including a 70 yard kickoff return by Floyd and a 55 yard pass from Norris to Worthy.
