Whitewright School Board Seeks More Applicants
The Whitewright Independent School Board met at the high school library to hire a project director counselor a reading teacher and an aide and decided to seek additional applicants. The district received a 30000 ESAA grant to fund a reading program and a counseling guidance program at the high school. Total enrollment is 493 with 192 elementary 128 middle and 173 high school students. Average daily enrollment in early weeks was 481. The board budget plan includes a new school track for 1978-79. Insurance coverage for all Texas school employees becomes effective Jan 1 1978. A school bus policy hand book was adopted and will be distributed. The 1976-77 audit was approved and bills paid. Next meeting is Nov 15 at the high school library.
