A Day of Gray and a Painter's Care
A poem by Louise Darcy speaks of gray days following sunlit times and the return of brightness after rain. The verse notes a transitioning mood from dull skies to hopeful sunshine. The latter portion shifts to practical advice on keeping brushes clean with paint-removal solutions or turpentine when paint jobs are paused or altered.

Store in a tightly covered container at about 70 degrees in a dry room. Do not refrigerate to avoid crystallization and potential fermentation once crystallized.

Use yarn salvaged from an old stocking to mend stockings for a discreet repair. Nylon yarn is strong but tends to slip, so secure both ends with a square knot. Moisten and wrap the raveled yarn to remove kinks, and stitch from the right side with a fine needle in an overhand or chain stitch.
