Liquor Conviction First in 14 Months in Grayson
Sherman report: Jack Carter, operator of a filling station north of Denison, was found guilty of liquor law violation. He was fined 100 dollars and sentenced to 30 days in jail. The conviction marked Grayson County's first in 14 months. Evidence included a milk can and 22 pints of whisky seized at Duck Creek filling station. The case occurred during a three-week criminal term, chaired by Judge David H. Brown.

House Votes Freeze Of Security Levy

Guy Blanks Injured In Airplane Crash
Guy Blanks, 20, of Los Angeles, was injured Tuesday afternoon when attempting takeoff in a pasture near Whitewright. He suffered cuts to a knee and hand, a broken finger, and bruises after a wing struck a tree and the plane rolled over. He was treated locally and then taken to a Sherman hospital. his condition was described as improving Wednesday.

American Legion Rodeo Tonight and Friday Night

BA Minimum For Texas Teachers Plan Endorsed
A state committee approved a plan requiring all accredited Texas schools to hire teachers with at least a BA degree by 1949-50. The three year phaseout targets emergency teachers lacking college credit, with staged eligibility rules for 1947-48 and 1948-49, and a 1949-50 employment prohibition for those without degrees. Kentuckytown Baptist Church Holds Homecoming
