Agriculture Commissioner Reagan W. Brown praised the Grain Warehouse Act as beneficial for operators and the Texas Department of Agriculture. He said the law would restore public faith after fraud cases and improve record keeping with serial receipts and scale tickets, noting 140 million bushels pass through Corpus Christi facilities and total statewide harvests around 286 million bushels of sorghum and over 100 million of wheat.
