Harvest Nears End In Whitewright Wheat Market
Whitewright area reports a very good grade wheat crop with harvest nearing completion. Buyers Farley and Gosnell say 1977 wheat is strong in quality but price remains around 1.80 per bushel. Much of the crop is being shipped to market, storage space is tight, and rains are needed for maize and Milo crops.

Foster Mother Anne Ballard Cares for Abandoned Hearts
Anne Ballard of Whitewright devoted to fostering children, adopting four, and raising Pamela who arrived at four months with cystic fibrosis. Despite trials including her son Jerrol's 1968 Vietnam death, she pursued foster care, training in Dallas, and daily therapy for Pamela, who now thrives with love and attention.

Vacation Bible School set for June in Whitewright
The First Baptist church will host Vacation Bible School June 13 to 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. preschool through sixth grade may attend. A kickoff parade with the church bus and clowns departs June 11 at 10 a.m. Balloons, peanuts as attendance rewards, and a prize for the farthest balloon distance mark the week. A closing program is planned for Sunday, June 19 at 6 p.m.
