D R Lewis retiring secretary of the local 1.0.C. F lodge received a gold headed walking cane from the members last Thursday night as a token of appreciation for twenty two years of continual and faithful service. Lewis joined Odd Fellows in April 1893 and was elected secretary that June, serving in other offices before returning to the secretary role. He was surprised by Rev Fender who presented the gift and Lewis accepted with a suitable response.
