Tigers compete in Whitesboro tournament excitement for Whitewright
Whitewright Tigers and Tigerettes participated in the Whitesboro Basketball Tournament on December 4 to 6. The Tigerettes opened with a 12 point effort by Kathy Morris against Collinsville, while Willie Wright and Randy Lancaster led the Tigers in a 1:20 p.m. win over Collinsville. Lake Dallas defeated the Tigerettes 4:00 p.m. with Jeannie Whipple scoring 12, and Saturday morning the Tigers beat Decatur led by Willie Wright with 19 points.

Starting at 10 20 Thursday morning at W H S group pictures were taken. Drill team Beta Club FFA and FHA were photographed as club groups. A photo of all motorcycle riders was made in the school parking lot. George Hight took the photos and Mrs Leta Harper sponsored the 1970 Annual.

Senior Memories of Joanna Robinson Drum Majorette Leader
Joanna Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Frank Robinson, is featured as a senior memory. She serves as Drum Majorette for the White Wright Drill Team, belongs to the 1969 Bell staff, and celebrates June 9 as her birthday. Top 10 percent of typists announced by Leta Harper typing instructor at Whitewright High. First place went to Larry Franklin, second to Tim Lancaster, and a two way tie for third between Ken Bennett and Jeannie Whipple. Honorable mentions Cynthia Smith and Jeannette Geers.

FFA Members Appear on Dallas TV Show
FFA advisor Jack Rodgers and three Whitewright High School students, Darrell Dyer Gary Christian and Carlos Bodine, were featured on the Murray Cox Show on Channel 8 Dallas. They shared agricultural project slides toured WFAA studios and met Mr Peppermint.

Chitty Chitty Blue Birds Plan Christmas Party
The group met Monday in the Camp Fire building with leaders Mrs. Illy Moore and Mrs. Mary Cowen. The girls drew names for a Christmas party on Dec 15 and worked on classroom Christmas tree decorations. Candy bars were screwed by Mrs. Moore.

Merry Blue Birds Hold Last Meeting Before Holidays
The Busy Blue Birds met Tuesday afternoon in the classroom with 10 members present. Nativity scenes and Christmas gifts were prepared to take home as centerpieces and for parents. Mrs. Lewis Franklin led the group and dismissed until January.
