Hit-Skip Mishaps Reported at Phila Page 2

New Philadelphia police investigated two hit-skip accidents and three two car collisions in the past day. Clyde R. Bichard, 52, suffered bruised ribs and arms after a truck was struck by an unidentified vehicle in the 1400 block of 4th Street NW. Lena P. Meyer, 26, reported her car struck on the right side by a white Thunderbird in the 1000 block of 4th Street NW. occupants fled. Joseph F. Sani backed into a parked car in Broadway lot, minor damage. Eugene E. Mascotti backed into Nancy J. Sigler’s car near Ashwood In and 2nd St NW. funeral procession passing north. Grace A. Mason and Robert A. DeMarco involved in a right-turn collision on Broadway. Mason claimed signaling a turn and DeMarco claimed Mason was center of road. Police were also investigating an additional accident at press time.

A fire at a Port Washington site caused damage estimated at $50 due to a tar spill and a voltage regulator short. Elizabeth Gilliland age 91 of Killbuck died Friday night after a long illness in Pomerene Memorial Hospital. She was born in Coshocton County daughter of George I and Mary Elizabeth Hawkins. She married Samuel McKee and later Paul Gilliland, both predeceased her. Survived by three daughters Violetta Snyder Sara Henderson and Walter McBride. two sons Jerry McKee and Guy McKee. two sisters and four brothers. 19 grandchildren 27 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Avon Representatives Attend Dover Christmas Luncheon

Sixty Avon Co. representatives from Tuscarawas County and nearby areas gathered Thursday at the Coat of Arms in Hotel Dover for a Christmas luncheon. Navy Probes Plane Crash Near Brunswick

The Navy opened an investigation into a patrol plane crash about 25 miles off the Atlantic coast. One crew member, Lt. Donald Lavigne, 26, of Albany, N.Y., was killed, likely from exposure. Manenkrat Named Dover Electric Lines Chief After Klyne Resigns

Hanenkrat took over as superintendent of the electric lines division after A B Klyne resigned and retired. He had been Klyne’s assistant and a lineman.
