Total loss fire destroys bank barn on McIntire farm

The bank barn on E. D. McIntire’s infirmary farm east of the infirmary was struck by lightning Sunday afternoon and burned to the ground. Oscar Mock and his wife aided by neighbors Claude and Nancy Dootham rescued livestock except five hogs and saved 250 bushels of wheat 125 bushels of oats 40 tons of hay and machinery. McIntire carried 400 dollars of insurance on the barn. Mock had no coverage for the contents. The blaze was visible from the city. Will Celebrate Dewey's Return.

Sth Oho Infantry to Join New York Parade

Orders from Geo N Wright direct the 8th Infantry to prepare for departure to New York City to take part in Admiral Dewey return celebrations. The unit must mobilize quickly with requisitions for area clothing and equipment to bolster its reputation.

Father cited in fatal skull fracture dispute near Wooster

A Friday argument about six miles southwest of Wooster led to Henry Binkley (75) fracturing his son Daniel Binkley’s skull with a pitchfork blast. The injured man, who may not recover, faced a dangerous operation if he survives.

The grand jury was discharged after examining 112 witnesses in 25 complaints. Indictments named John Brandon for rape intent, Francia Wiggins for unauthorized use of Dr C O Brower property, bond $50.
