Sight Lost Hammer Struck By Accident at Farm
Jon Hammer, a Wayne carpenter, was injured in a hunting accident near Sheriff McCoy farm while returning home with a clock. He tripped on timber, fell, and lost sight in his left eye. Doctors concluded the right eye may still be saved.

A Wooster bride Mary Scudder Meeker wed Rev. Thomas F. Barrier at 8 p.m. in the home of her parents 128 Fort Wayne Ave before about 40 friends. The bride, Wooster University graduate, taught at Scotia N O. The groom, Wooster alumnus, is a rising Presbyterian minister. County Commissioners Allow Sheep and Lamb Claims in Wayne County
The Wayne County board completed reviewing claims for livestock killed by dogs. Numerous residents from Wayne, Chippewa, Congress, Milton, Palot, Salt Creek and other townships reported sheep and lamb losses with varying amounts allowed. An agricultural exhibit was encouraged with farmers urged to bring products to Wayne County Fair on September 25 to 27.

Severe storm devastates town with heavy rain and lightning
A Thursday afternoon storm drenched the community with the heaviest rainfall in years, flooding cellars, snapping shade trees, and wrecking barns and windmills. Lightning struck multiple buildings including Dr J H Stoll’s residence, causing minor damage. several farmers reported torn doors, broken windows, and collapsed barns. The sewer backed into the city jail, while a fatal lightning strike killed a man and his son near Lattasburg, with their barn and contents destroyed.
