Glorious Fourth Celebration Draws Large Wooster Crowd
The Wooster celebration on Independence Day drew about seven thousand people from Orrville Shreve Creston Applecreek Smithville Burbank and Lodi. The day featured a Sunday School rally parade at 10 30 a m a cannon unveiling an address by Thomas H Clark and a cannon from the Pensacola memorial. Fireworks concert and a 3 p m public square gathering concluded the festivities.

Four Men Injured in Severance Hall Construction Fall
Four workers on the Severance Hall scaffold southwest corner fell about 28 feet last Monday afternoon. John Myers of Lattasburg suffered severe head cuts and ear damage, Washam Hammer of Wooster sustained facial bruises, Thomas Reid of Cleveland had a head wound with possible internal injuries, Warren Ash of Waouter broke an arm and suffered a head cut. All were hospitalized except Hummer who went home. Other workers escaped without injury. Dr Ktaer and specialists treated the injured in Wooster Ohio.

The U S Geological Survey and Ohio cooperate on a new topographic survey with state funding. Field parties led by Robert Cummm and W Griffin map the Cleveland shore and Berea area including old lake terraces. West of Columbus a Westersle quadrangle is surveyed. The Ohio River coal districts from Steubenville to Parkersburg will be covered, with triangulation across Cadiz to Ironton under Garnett Hawkins and Griffin Morrill.
