On His First Trip William Lawrence Dies on Pennsylvania Line
William Lawrence of Loudonville died while starting his first trip as a fireman on the Pennsylvania Lines. At 24, he leaped his head from the cab window and was torn from his body as the engine, from Alliance, was in motion. His remains were sent to Loudonville. Reports indicate the A and W road may extend with Pennsylvanian control from Wet Lebanon to Wooster, with current track to West Lebanon Coal Fields.

Burglary at Orrville Dry Goods Store Reported
Burglars entered Hartzler and Pearlstein dry goods store in Orrville on January 16 using a back door. The safe was blown open and a small amount from the safe and store was taken. The robbery was not discovered until the following morning.
