To Aid Their Alma Mater and Wooster Growth

President Holden urges Wooster trustees to halt new buildings after February 21 until $140000 is raised to secure $100000 more. Funds include $19500 pledged outside Wayne County and a Cleveland drive aiming for $15000 local plus $5000 from a donor. Faculty and citizens urged to raise $300000 Christian education in the county, with a call to raise $30000 in Wayne this coming week.

The Wayne County Sunday School Association Executive Committee met at Mrs R J Smith Wooster on January 2 1902 with members from Orrville Fredericksburg Plain West Salem Kidron Wooster and more. They discuss minutes treasurer replacement Gordon to serve, upcoming conventions, Rally Day July 4, and delegation to the International Convention in Denver. A plan for two nearby township conventions and a banner criteria for 1903 is outlined. Clara Gepford is secretary. Prof Geo F Schwartz resigns from St James Episcopal post.

A J Thomas Sentenced in Perjury Case

Judge R M Campbell of Ashland overruled a new trial motion and sentenced A J Thomas to three years in the penitentiary for perjury. The execution was suspended 45 days on good behavior to allow appeal to the circuit court if desired. The probate court proceeding includes numerous estate actions, guardian appointments, final accounts, and real estate sales in several Ohio counties, with hearings set for February 7 and 20.

Wooster Preserving Company Holds Meeting on Spruce Street

Wooster Preserving Company executives met at the Spruce street office to elect officers but postponed until creditors out of town with stock could be notified. Mrs Shanklin of East Union dreamed of burglary during a night at Mr and Mrs Phil Ruch home. She allegedly jumped through a second story window breaking her right leg above the ankle in the escape.
