Wooster Hardware Co Opens With Notable Show

Wooster Hardware Co. celebrated a successful opening Saturday at its Academy of Music quarters. A large crowd attended despite poor roads and gloomy weather. Manufacturers represented included Columbia Buggy Co of Hamilton Columbus Buggy Co Herring Buggy Cov of Mansfish Paugs and McMurry Solky Co of Marion. The bicycle department is up to date and several new jobs were created, signaling strong future patronage.

Verrick plans to buy the Cleveland Canton Southern and unite with the Wheeling and Lake Erie, aiming to merge two major coal regions under one management. Blind couple wed at Wooster in Church of God basement

Harvey A. Sidle of Wooster and Miss Susier E. Hoke of Centre Miami county Ohio were married at 3 p m Sunday in Wooster. The bride has been blind since age two after lye injury and the groom has been blind about 12 years. Rev T W Bellingham officiated. They will live on a Miami county farm owned by the bride. They met at the Institute for the Blind in Columbus.

Fire kills thirteen in New York at two East Sixty-seventh Street deaths

An early morning fire destroyed Wallace C. Andrews’s residence at No. 2 East Sixty-seventh Street. Thirteen people in the home perished. Windborne firebrands set the adjacent Abbott J. Adams house at No. 3 East Sixty-ninth Street, causing the death of a servant. All bodies were recovered. The Wallaces once resided in Willoughby, Ohio.

Roebuck Wins State Oratorical Representing Ohio State

Carl F. Roebuck of Dalton Ohio Class of 1900 won the university oratorical contest to represent the school at the Central Oratorical League meeting at Cornell May 20. He spoke on Imperialism as an American Policy, earning a $25 prize. Roebuck, born March 2 1876, was educated in Dalton public schools and later taught before entering the university in 1896.
