Houdini a Needle May Explain Escape From Inside Cell
Lieutenant H B Elliott reports Houdini escaped from a handcuffed cell in the Tenth precinct. The prisoner, naked with clothes kept next door, opened three locks in about twenty minutes and dressed. A needle found on the floor suggests Houdini could reach the lock from inside and may have used a tiny tool to free himself. Suggestions include moving cell locks beyond reach or adding protective screens.
