Fireman Criste Killed In Train Accident Near Baltimore
John Edward Criste a 29 year old fireman on the Pennsylvania Railroad was killed when struck by a train while leaning from the cab window about fifteen miles north of Baltimore. His body was found between the tracks. his wife and daughter survive. Criste had eight years with the railroad and ran between Washington and Philadelphia.

Feely Arrested in Connection With City Store Robbery
Daniel Feely, 28, an employee of M. G. Copeland & Co., was arrested by First precinct police after a Friday morning robbery at the firm’s 409 Eleventh Street Northwest store. Feely gave 207 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest as his address and was held on housebreaking charges awaiting arraignment at Police Court Monday morning.

Annual Ball at Marshall Hall Touts Knights and Queens
The twenty second annual tournament and dress ball will be held at Marshall Hall on Wednesday afternoon August 5. Observances mark the portiuncula feast on August 2 at the Franciscan monastery in Brookland D C. The shrine near Assisi, portiuncula, gained a plenary indulgence through St Francis after a vision in 1221. Pope Honorius III opposed then, later granted the indulgence. Gregory XV extended it to all Franciscan churches in 1622, allowing pilgrims to gain the indulgence there as well.
