Adrift in Storm on Lake: DeWitts Stranded Near Gilloup Island
George DeWitt, a New York broker, his wife, and their boatman Wenborn, were cast ashore on Gilloup Island after a three hour gale near Cape Vincent. Mrs F F McDonald also known as Mabel Drain was arrested today for possessing a trunk marked with her name containing goods worth over 1000 dollars alleged stolen from Ocean Steamship Co docks.
