Memorial Day Reflections and Remembrance Poem
A poem by Blanche Harvey recalls Memorial Day rituals as children lay flowers and wreaths on graves of service members. An aeroplane hums, a bystander laughs, and children play unaware until a firing squad salute hushes the crowd. The memory widens to a teen son cited as family pride, whose death still stings with taps echoing in sorrow.
