Vic Brenneman wins Iowa FFA Sheep Proficiency Award
Vic Brenneman son of Mrs Donna Brenneman of Harper was awarded the State FFA Sheep Proficiency Award at the State Leadership Conference in Waterloo Iowa. A $100 check came from the National FFA Foundation. Vic has built a large Keota FFA sheep program to 18 grade ewes 25 Reg Suffolk ewes 4 Reg Suffolk ewe lambs 5 Reg Suffolk rams plus 50 Reg Suffolk ewes and 15 Reg ewe lambs as of Jan 1 1976 with $13 677 invested in sheep and equipment. His three year lamb crop gains averaged .47 .81 and .89 pounds per day. He plans to expand and pursue Agriculture Education possibly as a Vo-Ag instructor. This is Keota FFA’s first State Proficiency Award winner and he will resubmit July 1 for the regional contest with a national bid possible next fall.
