A Circuit Court jury reversed a medical malpractice suit Tuesday, ruling Harriet Nathan and her lawyers guilty of willful misconduct and awarding Dr. Leonard Berlin $8,000 in damages. GAO warns cabinet officers over Medicaid nursing-home payments
The General Accounting Office told HEW Secretary Mathews and Treasury Secretary Simon they could be personally liable for Medicaid long-term care payments after July 1 if states inadequately review nursing home care.
