Iowa Colleges Grant Thousands in June Graduations
Iowa colleges and universities plan large June commencement programs. At the University of Iowa about 687 graduates, plus advanced degree recipients, will hear remarks by Dr. Thomas H. Macbride and Dr. Charles R. Brown. Iowa State College in Ames expects around 500 graduates with Dr. Reymond Hughes delivering the commencement address. Columbia College Dubuque will graduate 42 seniors with Archbishop Francis J. Beckman delivering diplomas. Luther College Decorah and Coe College Cedar Rapids also hold June commencements with noted speakers. Alumni reunions accompany most ceremonies.
