Bohemian language wanes as Americans focus on business
The piece notes that after older generations pass, the Bohemian language among Americans is nearly obsolete. It argues that contemporary Bohemians are busy with business and wealth, neglecting the native tongue of their grandparents and preferring to do business rather than speak Bohemian.
Notice Families Do Not Speak Tongue Of Native Bohemia
Alvin C. Hasty writes from Homestead Farm about Bohemian families losing their language to English through schooling and assimilation. He recalls old dances, communities, and musicians, then reviews the film Up in Arms starring Danny Kaye, praising its humor, music, and Color Technicolor production.
