Mrs. Lillian Cameron, 82, Cedar Falls, disappeared after leaving for Waterloo shopping. Her car was found in the Waterloo business district. She is mother to a 17 month old daughter. Husband Charles Cameron works as a seal tester at Viking Pump Co. Relatives fear amnesia.
Paul Kesler, 30, of Council Bluffs suffered a possible fractured spine and other injuries after allegedly walking off the top of an eastbound Rock Island freight car while the train was in motion. Trainmen found him asleep and awakened him before the fall.
Beginning July 31, Des Moines restaurants must display the prices of 40 basic food items in a prominent place. The new OPA regulation, issued with the National Restaurant Industrial Council, aids the public in checking ceiling prices and compliance.
The regular Civil Air Patrol Cadets meeting will be held Tuesday evening. The boys will play softball at 1290 Lincoln school grounds if weather permits. The last hour of the meeting will be devoted to interior guard duty under instruction by Bob Livingston.

Pastor Ivan Riess of Washington Church of Christ resigns and accepts the Christian Church pastorate at Donovan Illinois. He and his family plan to move July 25 and begin ministry the last Sunday of July. Donovan lies near the Illinois Indiana line, south of Chicago, with an enthusiastic congregation and a larger salary than his current post.
Jesse Radda sent Don Radda’s world beating tall corn photos to General De Mousabert of a French division in Italy in response to Col. Robert J. Shaw’s request. Shaw had earlier asked Iowa Governor Hickenlooper for the Iowa Corn Song music for the French unit and for tall corn pietres, which were sent to Italy. The French soldiers will now have both the corn song and pictorial proof that the town is “where the tall corn grows.”
Thirteen neighbors harvested the entire hay crop at George Wells farm on Friday. They loaded twenty loads of hay into the barn, filling it to capacity while Wells has been confined to his room in the past three months with a broken leg.
