The church host gathered for a Thursday potluck and congregational meeting. Mr and Mrs Gerald Vandenburg hosted the event while Mrs Ray Blair and Mrs Don Wilson provided meat dishes. The food committee included Mrs Earl Hiller and Cindy Robert Megdelsen. Megdelsen retired as congregation chair and Dwain Johnson became the new chairman who presided the evening.

Methodist Legislators Gather in Des Moines Reception
Washington County lawmakers attended the Iowa Methodist Church reception hosted by Bishop Thomas in Des Moines. State Senator and Mrs Richard Stephens and State Representative and Mrs Herbert Campbell were guests, joined by Rev and Mrs Smith of Washington United Methodist Church. A Valley High School choir directed by Robert Steele performed for the attendees.

Mrs Ron Roberts Honored At Wedding Shower
Mrs Ron Roberts was honored with a bridal shower Sunday at the VFW Hall hosted by Mrs Ben Turner and Cheri. Guests included Mrs John Eagle Mrs Raynham Mrs Harry Roberts and Elaine Martin who won prizes in bridal games. Ray Lee aunt of the bridegroom baked a blue rose four tier cake and served by Mrs Jerry Blanchard with coffee poured by Mrs Eagle. Twenty four guests attended with mothers Mrs Harry Roberts and Mrs Hobart Bodkins as special guests.
