Farm outlook projects modest growth with inflation easing
The forecast, released by Jim Frier of the County Extension, cites economist Bob Wisner of Iowa State University predicting a gradual drop in unemployment and a moderate rise in business activity. He expects 8 to 9 percent national output growth, tax measures to boost spending, and ample credit with potential rate easing. Beef and other meat demand is expected to stay strong, supporting agriculture amid inflation relief and higher farm wages due to increased off farm employment.
