Bunion Winner Remains Quiet Meets Transcontinental Dream
The 55 finishers of C C Pyle’s endurance marathon in Madison Square Garden gathered Saturday night for the 26 hour relay to be staged Friday. Andy Payne, 20, from Claremore Oklahoma, won first at 3422.3 miles and stayed silent as Pyle vowed to stage the event again and raise entry to 250 dollars next year. Pyle praised the papers for spelling his name correctly while promising self diet and lodging for runners to curb casino criticisms. Sydney Morris of Los Angeles pressed for extra pay for suffering, but Pyle offered only a hundred dollars and jokes about wrinkled trouser pockets from the effort. More than 100 Boy Scouts of Kent recently presented a silk flag to Austrian Scouts in Vienna.
