Postage bill cuts rates boosts New Process Company

President Coolidge signed the postage rate reduction, expected to raise mail volume at Warren and cut yearly postage by 6 285 000 dollars. New Process Company officials say a new pound rate on third class circular mail will save on annual postage and postcards used for orders drop to one cent. The tax reduction measure lowers the corporate tax to 12 percent and repeals the 3 percent tax on motor car sales, with other fiscal provisions noted.

Warren High to Graduate 1928 Class Tonight

One hundred forty eight seniors of Warren High School will finish their careers at the fifty first annual commencement in the First Presbyterian church at eight o'clock. Dr W Charles Wallace of Westminster College will deliver the address and diplomas will be presented by Dr W M Robertson. Warren High seniors prize awards announced at church

Warren High School announced prize and medal winners for senior students. Florence Jacobs won first prize of twenty five dollars in the A J Hazeltine essay contest for Lindbergh as the ideal youth, with Frederick Keck second and Glenn Greer third. Medals went to Walter Johnson, Glen Mickleson, and Elbert Mohr, plus Marie Williams earned the Windsor silver cup and the Dragon prize. Frederick McCoy received the Carleton Davis Memorial cup, and Richard Marker will receive the University of Pennsylvania Alumni cup tonight. Meanwhile President Coolidge was predicted to be renominated at Kansas City if he does not decline.

Congress to adjourn at 5 30 p m ending Boulder Dam filibuster

Congress will close sessions at 5 30 p m today after a 24 hour filibuster against the Boulder Dam bill. The Senate approved the adjournment 46 to 35 and the House passed the substitute resolution 155 to 9 overcoming objections by Vice President Dawes and ending the bill’s fate for this session. Senators Ashurst and Hayden led the long floor fight with Johnson protesting the sit‑in.

Bids Rejected For New Building At State Hospital

High bids opened this morning halted plans for a new 300000 dollar building at North Warren State Hospital. All bids were rejected keeping contracts from award. The board to meet soon to decide whether to scale back or seek more funds indicated by Ralph W. Stone.

Gettysburg Preparing for President Coolidge Memorial Day Visit

Gettysburg Pennsylvania May 29 regular army units encamped on Culp s Hill and nearby cavalry await President Coolidge who will deliver the Memorial Day address from the Lincoln site. Town decorations, rostrum, and a fresh train station paint job mark the gala preparations as 50 000 to 100 000 visitors are expected tomorrow with state police mobilizing for the ceremony.

Flicker lights at F-N crossing urged by group

Warren County Good Roads association executive committee endorsed installing warning flicker lights at the F N crossing of the Pennsylvania Railroad at F N tower. The vote supported 24 hour watchman, road improvements, and aiding townships to secure cheaper main highway connections. Mystery in Injury of Man on Train

Thom as J. Brown, 72, patient at Warren General hospital, was taken from a Pennsylvania train en route from Erie to Philadelphia. He suffered a possible broken hip after becoming ill on the train and has yet to recall how the injury occurred. X rays were to be taken today. Dr. F. G. Haines attends.
