Regulations for Fire Dept Bring Chief’s Comment
Fire Chief Gordon criticised the five department rules read by Borough Solicitor Blackman at last night’s council meeting. One regulation would shift hiring and firing power from the chief to the fire council upon a declaration of intent. Gordon noted wording changes made since the fire committee drafted the rules. Offerle, committee chair, said changes came on his suggestion. Blackman said committees traditionally draft such regulations for the departments they supervise. Offerle urged filing a copy in the borough secretary’s office for June review.
