Independence Raise Shows Good Ore in No 4 Tunnel Work
The Independence Minen company reports a good milling grade ore in the raise from No 4 to No 3 tunnel, first struck 165 feet below No 4. The ore shoot lies west of the dike on No 3 level, with plans to carry the raise outward to access ore. Kingsbury and inspector Campbell note a bright outlook for mining activity in the Wood River district and a push to bring the mill online to achieve payback. A Pine Creek branch improvement will aid year-round rail access, and stock exchange forms are offered to investors.
