Diplomatic mystery after Loomis voyage ends in death
Kent Loomis, brother of Assistant Secretary of State F. B. Loomis, vanished from the Kaiser II while en route to deliver a U S Abyssinia treaty text. A body washed ashore at Warren Point was identified as Loomis, bearing a circular wound under the ear and a torn coat, indicating murder rather than drowning. The unclear motive raises questions about money, the treaty, and looming global conflicts.
