Sheriff W. G. Hunt of Pulaski county collapsed at his Hawkinsville home while speaking with his son on Saturday. The long serving official, noted for his statewide popularity, died from heart disease after ten years in office.
The grand jury appropriated twenty dollars to be divided among five county newspapers for publishing the presentments. They warned newspapers against taking large sums at once or they would lose business, joking that editors would instead go to picking blackberries.

Miss Dollie Powell and Mr Willis Lane were married Sunday afternoon at the bride’s parents home 247 miles South of town. Judge J D Hargrove officiated in a quiet home ceremony with only family and relatives present. Lane is a son of Jas A Lane, a prosperous farmer, and Powell is the daughter of ex-sheriff H W Powell. A large circle of friends extend best wishes.
The County Court under Judge Henderson reports strong activity with 72 criminal cases disposed since September. Of these 52 were convicted, plus about 80 civil cases over $100 and many smaller claims. The office paid $560 into the county treasury in six months, showing the court is self sustaining and jail fees saved the county an estimated $1500 to $2000. Taxpayers should be proud of this showing.
