The County Federation of Armstrong County Texas
The Armstrong County Federation arose from three small study clubs in Claude Texas in 1908. Women forming the first county federation sought to help schools, plant trees, and expand rural work, becoming the only county federation in Texas by 1915 and later noted as the only one in the United States. The movement spread with clubs forming in Bee, Lubbock, and other counties, leading to a rural life department in the Texas State Federation and national interest from the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

How to Succeed with the Farm Poultry
Many people rush into poultry production without training or knowledge. Start small with 50 to 100 birds, learn to select, cull, house, feed, and care properly, then scale up. Use courses, extension agents, and agricultural texts for guidance to avoid costly failures.

City funds fire protection and water supply debate
Fragmented note states the city pays nothing to a fire department yet relies on private pipes and labor for water service. It mentions an $8,150 expense for fire protection and references Republicans and households near houses paying for labor, pipe, and materials to obtain water. The text is incomplete but centers on municipal fire protection costs and water supply costs borne by residents.
